I'm hoping Obsidian get another crack and we get a game similar to New Vegas within the next couple of years. I still think Fallout 4 is an amazing achievement and one of my favorite games, but Bethesda just don't seem to get certain aspects of the series. And you actually altered the ending massively to the point where I understand why you couldn't play after competition. The karma system was pushed way back for a repetition system, which meant you could be hated by one faction and loved by the other. In New Vegas, every choice mattered and had an impact. This is why Obsidian are much better at making Fallout games. The story was pretty much a one choice ending and it didn't matter what you did in the game previously.
The karma system was good and all, but it put you down this path of you're either good or bad, which really simplified things.
They made exactly the same mistake in Fallout 3. Yeah this is where Bethesda fall short on Fallout games.
